Greetings CCWC Family!
I pray this newsletter finds you having a wonderful season! Is is a beautiful time of year; Thanksgiving tradition, pure white snow, and an advent journey to Christmas all highlight the nature of our creative God. Certainly, there are many things in this world that can distract and discourage us, but let us embrace God’s goodness and be thankful for His presence.
With Thanksgiving on the radar and Christmas to soon follow, we have much to look forward to over the next 6 weeks! It is hard to believe that Advent begins this Sunday. What exactly is “Advent” you ask? Advent is a season of reflective preparation for the Nativity of Christ at Christmas and the expected return of Christ in the second coming. Advent brings hope, peace, love, and joy to all who recognize and celebrate it; particularly those who are walking in tough times. Dietrich Bonhoeffer stated, “The celebration of Advent is possible only to those who are troubled in soul, who know themselves to be poor and imperfect, and who look forward to something greater to come.” Let us not pretend we have it “all together” this Christmas season, but let us embrace the nature of God’s presence and provision. May we all humbly receive Him!
Make it a priority in this season to join us for the next four weeks as we embrace this beautiful season by responding to God’s action of love, the sending of Himself, in the person of Jesus, to live among us. Sunday worship services are at 9:00 AM and 10:30 AM (kids ministry provided for both) and can also be viewed on our website or YouTube channel.
May God bless you this season, as we embrace the presence of God in our midst. What more can we be thankful for?
Pastor Steve
